Cortisone (corticosteroid) injections are excellent treatment options for acute and chronic joint and tendon issues including osteoarthritis, rotator cuff tears, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow and many other pathologies.

Hyaluronic acid, also known as viscosupplementation, is an evidence based treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee, hip and shoulder widely used in Sports Medicine and available through Dr. Shamshoon. Additionally, new research has shown benefits of a cutting edge hyaluronic acid known as Sportvis for tendon and ligament injuries, which Dr. Shamshoon also provides.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a regenerative treatment in which  a component of your own blood, called plasma, is injected into a joint or tissue in order to stimulate your body's natural healing process. PRP has yielded excellent results in the treatment of knee arthritis as well as muscle and tendon tears.
